2 medium Granny Smith apples, cored, peeled and sliced
2 40 oz. cans of yams, drained
8 T margarine, melted
1/3 C and 2 T brown sugar
½ tsp. cinnamon
½ C dark corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 10” round deep dish plate.

In food processor, combine yams, 6 T melted margarine, corn syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Puree until smooth.

Spread half the mixture into dish. Arrange half of the apple slices over the yam mixture. Repeat.

Brush the top of the apple slices with the remaining 2T melted margarine.

(You can freeze this at this point. Defrost thoroughly when you want to use it. Let it become room temperature.)

Bake about 30 minutes or as necessary to heat through.

This dish is good for Thanksgiving.
