Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. lard (Crisco if you must)
1/2 t. salt
1/4 c. cool water

Directions:
Directions:
Using a fork work together flour, lard and salt. Add water stirring until mixed together, then form into two balls. This makes 1 pie. Roll out the first ball onto a floured surface. Place into a pie tin for your bottom crust. Fill with pie filling of your choice and repeat rolling out second half of dough. Wet the edge of the bottom crust to seal the pie. Before mom put the top crust on, she made this design (see picture) using the top of the spoon handle. It was to let the air escape. After fitting the top crust and trimming the extra away, she sealed the two crusts by placing her tow index fingers on the edge about a finger width apart. With her thumb, she pushed upward between the fingers on the crust causing a ripple effect. Then she would move her left finger over to the indenture made by the right finger and again push with her thumb continuing around the pie until she was back to the beginning.

Personal Notes:
The record Mom and I had for the most apple pies made in one day was 42! This was after we had the apple peeler. Dad helped then, by running the peeler. That saved a lot of time.
