9 lg. cucumbers
1/3 c. pickling salt
4 c. vinegar
4 c. sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1 T. whole cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and seed cucumbers. Sprinkle with salt and cover with water. Let stand overnight. Next day: Drain and rinse. Combine vinegar, sugar and spices in a large pot. Bring to a boil and cook for five minutes. Add cucumbers and return to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until tender and translucent. Place cucumbers in sterilized one-pint jars, leaving 1/2-inch head room. Top off with liquid from pot, seal and process for 15 minutes.
