1 # dried pinto beans
1/4 # diced pork shoulder or bacon
1 - 2 # chuck steak, cut into 1" cubes
1/4 t. crushed red pepper
2 minced garlic cloves
1 - 6 oz. can tomato paste
1 cup water
1 T. chili powder
1 t. ground cumin

Directions:
Directions:
Cover the beans with 3x volume of unsalted water and bring to boil. Boil 10 minutes and reduce heat. Simmer 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Drain. In skillet brown pork and steak over med. heat. Drain. Add to crock pot with beans. Add remaining ingredients. Stir well. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours then low for 7 to 12 hours or Cook on high 5 to 8 hours.
