3 c. sugar
1 c. butter or margarine
5 lg. eggs, separated
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Cream sugar and margarine together. Add egg yolks, vanilla, and buttermilk to sugar/margarine mixture. Mix well. In separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff. Set aside. Mix flour, salt, and soda and add to creamed mixture. Beat five minutes. Fold in egg whites. Do not beat. Pour into greased and floured bundt pan. Bake one hour at 350º until golden brown. Cool.
