1 large chopped white onion
2 garlic cloves
1/4 cup olive oil
1 lb ground beef
1 lb salsiccia Italian sausage
28 oz. crushed tomatoes
28 oz. + 14.5oz. diced tomatoes
30 oz. tomato sauce
12 oz. tomato paste
4 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons sugar
2 Tablespoons basil
4 bay leaves

In large pot, add tomatoes, paste, sauce and all spices. In a frying pan, brown beef and sausage. Drain grease and then add meats to tomato mixture. Lightly brown onion, garlic in olive oil in frying pan and add to mixture. Cook uncovered for 2 hours.

This is Sarajane's recipe--she does not remember but I do. It is a great sauce and would be good
with toasted ravioli. Makes a large batch and freezes well. My kids love it still.
