14 oz. caramels
6 oz. chocolate chips
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup melted margarine
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 14 oz. caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk; microwave. Combine by hand; 1 box German chocolate cake, 1/2 cup melted margarine, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, & 1 cup chopped nuts. Press 1/2 of mixture into greased-floured 9 X 13 pan. Bake at 350º for 6 minutes. Sprinkle 6 oz. chocolate chips. Spread hot caramel mixture with chocolate. Put chunks of remaining dough on top. Bake 15 - 18 minutes longer. Cool slightly & refrigerate 30 minutes.
