1 head of broccoli (about 1 1/2 lbs.) I usually buy 2 1/2 lbs.
1/2 to3/4 cup red onion (I use the larger amount)
1/2 to 1 cup golden raisins (I use the larger amount)
1/2 to 1 cup sunflower seeds (I use the larger amount)
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese


Possible other additions (that I don't do):
1 cup celery
1 lb bacon fried crisp and crumbled
1 can water chestnuts, chopped


Dressing
11/4 cup mayo (lite can be used I use Hellmann's light)
1/2 cup sugar
3T vinegar

Separate broccoli into flowerettes (bite-size). Use either raw or slightly steamed, yet still crunchy (I use raw). Combine all salad ingredients in a large bowl. Make dressing to taste you might need to add more sugar or more vinegar and then toss with salad ingredients or put in a 2 gallon ziplock and shake/mix. add crisp bacon when ready to serve and mix. Chill and serve.
