Mix:
4 Cups old fashioned oats (not quick)
1 Cup almonds (roughly chopped)
1 Cup pecans (roughly chopped)
1 Cup mixture of seeds or other nuts
1 Cup wheat germ

Combine:
3/4 Cup olive oil
1/2 Cup maple syrup

Pour over dry ingredients and blend until coated.


Then top with:
1/4 Cup brown sugar (optional) and stir to combine.

Bake in a 9x13 3qt baking dish at 350º for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Do not over cook! Let cool in the pan for a couple of hours.

Add: 1 Cup of 2 or 3 different dried fruits.

The options for this are virtually endless! You can season it with cinnamon and nutmeg, add chocolate pieces, and create themes. Dried pineapple, coconut, and mango with macadamia nuts would make a fabulous Aloha snack. Also, be sure and check the cereal aisle at Costco for the best deals on oats, nuts, fruit, oil, and syrup! For the best selection on other seeds and wheat germ, try the bulk section at your local natural food store.
