1/2 c. butter or shortening
4 t. milk
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 t. soda
2 c. flour
2 c. oatmeal
1/2 t. cloves
1 t. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter and add the sugar, cream together. Put the soda into the milk. Add milk and eggs to the sugar mixture. Mix together with dry ingredients. Drop on cookie sheet and bake at 375º for 15 minutes.

This is exactly the way Aunt Ruby wrote down the recipe. I'm sure because of the differences in our ovens the baking time will be shorter.
