1 lb. bulk or link Italian sausage
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, diced
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. parsley
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp. oregano
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1 egg,slightly beaten
16 oz. ricotta cheese
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
2 c. mozzarella cheese
9-12 lasagna noodles

Preheat oven to 350º. Cook and stir ground beef, sausage, (If using links, remove casings), onion and garlic in a large skillet until brown: drain. Stir in sauce, sugar, basil, and oregano. Simmer until bubbly. Cook lasagna noodles per package directions; drain. Rinse with cold water. Mix Parmesan, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese, parsley and egg together. In a 9 x 13 casserole dish spread 1 cup of sauce and top with 4 noodles. Add 1/2 of cheese mixture. Top with 4 noodles and 1/2 of the sauce. Layer remaining ingredients. Top with some mozzarella and bake uncovered 30-45 minutes or until noodles are done. Let stand 5-15 minutes before cutting and serving.
