1 lb ground beef
1 lb pork sausage
2 tsp garlic salt
32 oz can chili beans
29 oz can diced tomato, with juice
16 oz tomato sauce
1 1/2 c onion, diced
1 green pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 env. chili seasoning mix

Brown meat until no longer pink. Season with garlic salt. Drain grease and transfer to crock pot. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours, or high 4 hours. If too thick add water, or tomato juice/soup. Serve in bowls with toppings on the side. Optional toppings: shredded cheese, oyster crackers, Fritos, Tortilla chips, cooked noodles, sour cream, extra onions.

We often make this with baked potatoes. Many of the chili toppings also work great on the potatoes!
