Ingredients: 1 lb lean ground ground beef or sirloin 1 large sweet onion - chopped or cut into 1/4" or smaller pieces 1 c bread crumbs 1 tsp. garlic powder 2 tbs. fresh parsley, chopped 1/2 tsp. marjoram 1 egg 1 cup vegetable oil Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:In large bowl combine all ingredients except vegetable oil by mixing thoroughly by squeezing ingredients through fingers until well combined. Using your hands, take a small handful of the meat mixture and form it into a round burger shape about 3" in diameter by about 1" thick. Once all the patties have been made, heat half the oil in a large frying pan on medium. When hot, put in as many of the burgers as will fit comfortably with 1/2" spaces and oil at least 1/2 way up the patties. Fry on both sides until golden brown and cooked all the way through, about 8 minutes per side. Add oil to keep patties at least 1/2 way in the oil. |

Notes: Use some vegetable oil on your hands to keep meat from sticking to your hands when making the patties. Serve with boiled or mashed potatoes and a vegetable such as green beans.
