8 tbsp butter
2/3 cups flour
1/2 chopped onion
4 cups broccoli
49.5 oz can chicken broth
3/4 cup half & half
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:
Directions:
1. In small saucepan on low heat melt 6 tbsp butter. Add in flour and stir until blended. Do not brown. Remove from heat and set aside.

2. In a large saucepan melt the remaining 2 tbsp butter. Add onions, cook until tender. Add the chopped broccoli. Stir and cook about 6 minutes. Add chicken broth. Bring to a boil. Whisking constantly add flour mix. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.

3. Add salt, pepper and half & half. Heat through.
