Salad:
12 to 16 oz. bacon, cooked crisp, cut in pieces
10 oz. fresh spinach
2 to 3 green onions (with whites) chopped
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
11 oz. can Mandarin oranges, chilled and drained
1 bag slivered almonds, toasted

Dressing:
2/3 cup sugar
1 small onion, cut in chunks
1 tbsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. mustard
1/2 tsp. tarragon wine vinegar
1 cup vegetable oil
1 tbsp. celery seed

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all salad ingredients in large bowl and serve with dressing.

Process all dressing ingredients in a food processor, or blender, until smooth. Store in the refrigerator.

ginger Daniel (no that's not a typo, she spelled her name with a lower case "g") was the closest thing I had to a "fourth daughter". She couldn't wait for me to write my cookbook. ginger passed away several years ago. I miss her every day.
