1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs, well-beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 cup buttermilk
3 very ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup walnuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cream oil and sugar. Add eggs and salt and mix well. Mix flour and soda then mix in buttermilk. Add flour mixture to oil/sugar mixture. Add bananas. Fold in nuts. Grease two regular size loaf pans. Pour in mixture and bake approximately 45 minutes at 350º.

This is an old, reliable favorite. A friend said it was the best banana bread she ever tasted -- better than hers! Good sliced, buttered and toasted for breakfast.
