3 packages dry yeast or 2 yeast cakes
3/4 cp warm water
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 cp melted butter
2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
5 beaten eggs
1/2 cp sugar
1/4 cp dry potato flakes
1/8 tsp mace
nutmeg
1 tbsp orange peel rind
6-1/2 cps flour (part bread flour)

Directions:
Directions:
Yeast - Mix yeast with 3/4 cp warm water and 1 tbsp sugar. Let stand 5 minutes.
In a large bowl combine the melted butter, sugar, dry potato flakes, salt, vanilla, mace, nutmeg and orange peel rind. Add the 5 beaten eggs. Add the yeast mixture and mix well. Gradually blend in the flour. Kneed well til hands are clean! Dough will be smooth. Place dough in a well-greased bowl. Cover and let rise 2 hrs or until doubled in size. Punch dough down and place in an angel food pan. Bake at 350º for 50-60 minutes.

All of Babci's grandchildren have had the honor of helping Babci make Babka for Easter. It required an overnight stay, McDonald's and a trip to Toy R Us! Memories that warm the heart!!
