Dry Ingredients:
3 1/2 cup unbleached flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon backing powder
Scant cup sugar (2/3 to 3/4 cup)
1 1/2 cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients. Pour in milk and mix. Mold into round shape. Make a cross across top of loaf with a knife. Bake at 350 about 40 minutes until light brown and toothpick comes out clean.
