Ingredients:  
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons shortening
1 pkg yeast
4 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup warm water
1/2 cup white corn meal

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk
Add yeast dissolved in warm water to cooled milk
Add shortening, salt, sugar,egg, and 2 cups of flour
Beat well, then add remaining flour
Knead, let rise
Roll to 1/4" thickness and cut with a 3" cookie cutter
Let rise again
Cook over very low heat on top burner or un greased griddle
