1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar

2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup mashed bananas

1/4 cup boiling water
1 1/2 teaspoon soda

1/4 cup milk

2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and bananas. Mix dry ingredients. Put baking soda in 1/4 cup of boiling water.

Add 1 cup of the dry ingredients mixture to the creamed mixture. Add milk. Mix well. Add remaining dry ingredients. Add water mixture. Mix well.

Butter and flour 9x13 inch cake pan.
Bake for 30 minutes at 350F.

Jeff and I were over at the Hamm's home for the weekend. Pete and I made this recipe together to surprise Marianne. She wasn't overly surprised! In over 35 years of marriage, this is the only item he bakes and he even refers to it as his recipe! :)
