Granny's Sugar Cookies Recipe

1/2 cup butter,
1 cup sugar,
1 large egg,
2-21/4 cups flour,
2 tsp baking powder,
1/2 teaspoon salt,
1/2 teaspoon vanilla,

Cream together butter and sugar
Blend in egg
Sift together flour, baking powder,salt
mix with butter mixture
add vanilla
Divide dough in to two parts
Chill 1-2 hours
Heat oven 375
Roll chilled dough to desired thickness, place on cookie sheet.
Bake approx 10 mins
