1 cup sifted flour
½ cup margarine
2 T. water
3 eggs
½ c. margarine
1 cup water
1 t. almond extract
1 cup flour
¼ stick margarine
½ box powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
Dash of salt
Milk
Sliced almonds
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. I. Combine flour, margarine, and water in a bowl. Mix with fork to create a round ball. Divide in half and pat each into a strip 12x2 ½ on ungreased cookie sheet. II. Mix butter and water in a cooking pan and boil. Add extract and remove from heat. Stir in the flour immediately and continue mixing until all lumps are gone into smooth mixture. Add eggs and beat smooth after each. Divide in half and top evenly onto crust. Bake one hour until tops are both crisp brown. Cool. III. Frosting: Mix margarine, with powdered sugar. Add vanilla, dash of salt, and milk to moisten. Beat until smooth. Spread frosting onto both tops and cover with almonds.
