1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. ground pork
1 t. salt
½ t. pepper
¾ cup cooked rice
1 small onion, grated
16 oz. tomato sauce
12 large cabbage leaves
2 T. cooking oil
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Cook meat with onion and seasonings. Add cooked rice and blend. Cook cabbage leaves in boiling water for 4 minutes and drain. Place equal amounts of meat mixture in each leaf. Roll and fold ends over; fasten with toothpick. Brown in hot oil in heavy skillet. Mix tomato sauce with brown sugar and lemon juice. Pour over the rolls. Simmer covered 1 to 1 ½ hours basting occasionally.
