1 ½ cup flour
¾ cup sugar
3 t. baking powder
½ t. salt
¼ cup shortening, cut in
1 egg, slightly beaten
½ cup milk
1 t. vanilla
Streusel:
¼ cup packed brown sugar
1 T. flour
1 T. melted butter
¼ cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients together and cut in the shortening. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; then beat well to make smooth dough. Spread half dough into a 6x10 well greased and floured pan. Spread ½ cup stewed apricots or jam (prune or date) on top. Spread rest of batter and smooth out. Mix streusel ingredients with fork to form crumbs. Layer streusel on top and bake at 375-400 degree oven for 25-30 minutes.
