1 ½ cups of flour
¼ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup butter (1 stick)
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup of chopped pecans
Pecan halves for topping

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda. Set aside. Cream the butter and sugars. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Gradually add the flour mixture until well blended. Stir in chopped pecans. Shape the dough into an even cylinder. Wrap in plastic and chill for at least 15 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly butter it. Remove the plastic wrap and cut the dough into slices ¼ inch thick. Lightly press a pecan half into center of each. Bake about 12 minutes.
