1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup shortening, 2 eggs, 2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp. salt 1tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 cup flakes coconut, 1 cup rolled oats, 1/2 cup chopped nuts.

Combine sugars and shortening in mixer. Beat untill fluffy, add eggs and blend. Add flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder.Stir in vanilla, and remaining ingredients. Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 8to 10 minutes. Cool on rack or opened brown paper bag.
