2 slices of bread per serving (White bread is closest to the original recipe, but feel free to substitute any bread you like.)
2 eggs
1 c. milk
½ tsp ea. cinnamon and nutmeg (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium bowl, mix eggs and milk to make a basic batter. Add cinnamon and nutmeg if desired. Dip bread slices into batter, and cook on both sides until golden brown. (Approximately 1 min. per side) Spread each slice with butter, and drizzle with either honey or syrup as desired.

Serving suggestions: Serve alone or with breakfast meat or fresh fruit. To cut calories, honey can be added directly to the batter, and the French toast can be served without syrup
