2 C. Applesauce
2 tsp. soda
1 1/2 c. shortening
1/8 tsp. salt
2 C. sugar
1/2 C. raisins (optional)
1/2 C. nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
enough flour to make a stiff dough

Directions:
Directions:
Mix and heat the 1st 4 ingredients. Add next 4 ingredients. Mix in next 2 ingredients. Add just enough flour to make a stiff dough. drop by spoonful and bake at 350º for 10-15 minutes.
