2 1/4 CUPS CONFECTIONERS SUGAR, DIVIDED
1 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE, MELTED
2 CUPS GRANULATED SUGAR
4 EGGS, SLIGHTLY BEATEN
1 TSP. BAKING POWDER
2 CUPS COCONUT
1/4 CUP PLUS 3 TO 4 TABLESPOONS LEMON JUICE, DIVIDED

COMBINE 2 CUPS FLOUR AND 1/2 CUP CONFECTIONERS SUGAR. ADD MELTED BUTTER; MIX WELL. SPREAD MIXTURE IN A GREASED 13 X 9 X 2-INCH BAKING PAN. BAKE IN A PREHEATED OVEN 350º OVEN 20 TO 25 MINUTES. STIR GRANULATED SUGAR AND EGGS TOGETHER. COMBINE BAKING POWDER AND REMAINING 1/4 CUP FLOUR; ADD TO SUGAR MIXTURE. STIR IN COCONUT AND 1/4 CUP LEMON JUICE. POUR OVER BAKED CRUST. RETURN TO OVEN AND BAKE 30 MINUTES; COOL. COMBINE REMAINING 1 3/4 CUPS CONFECTIONERS SUGAR AND REMAINING 3 TO 4 TABLESPOONS LEMON JUICE; POUR OVER BAKED MIXTURE. CUT INTO BARS.
