1/4 cup chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 (16 oz) can diced tomatoes, not drained
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup or more dry red wine
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
1/4 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
1 pound perch fillets cut into pieces (or other firm white fish)
4 oz (or more) frozen shrimp
1 (7.5 oz) can minced clams, undrained
2 jars clam juice

French Bread

Slice French bread, butter and garlic both sides and toast in oven until golden brown.

Cook green pepper, onion, and garlic in oil until tender but not brown. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, wine, clam juice, parsley, salt, oregano, basil, and dash of pepper. Bring to boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Add fish to broth and simmer for 5 minutes. Add shrimp and clams. Continue simmering covered for about 3 minutes or more. Place slice of garlic toast in bowl, add soup. Enjoy with a salad and glass of red wine.
