1 c. flour
1 T. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 T. oil
1 large egg

Directions:
Stir all dry ingredients together, then beat in buttermilk, oil and egg. I sometimes use bacon drippings instead of the oil - gives a nice flavor. Cook on a hot griddle.
