"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
(2) Fully ripened Plantains
(They should be soft to the touch, and have more black than yellow skin)
Vegetable oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:
Score the plantains on one side with a knife and peel.Lay the plantain down and thinly slice at an angle.
On medium heat, heat some vegetable oil in large pan – you don’t need the oil to cover the plaintain, but it should be enough to come halfway up the sides of the plantain slices.
Turn the slices over when the sides start to look dark brown.
Remove the slices from the oil when both sides are done, and drain on paper towel.
