2 eggs, beaten, 1 and 1/2 lbs. ground beef, 1/2 lb. ground pork, 2 cups soft bread crumbs, 3/4 c. minced onion, 3/4 c. minced green pepper (I always leave this out), 2 tbsp. bottled horseradish, 1 tbsp. salt (I either don't put this in, or 1 tsp.), 1/4 c. milk, 1/4 c. ketchup, 1 tsp. dry mustard

1. Add eggs to meat;blend slightly with fork.
2. Add remaining ingredients; mix thoroughly but do not stir more than necessary as it tends to toughen loaf.
3. Shape into an oval loaf; place in shallow pan.
4. Bake 1 hour in hot oven 400º

Gary sold Cutco Cutlery in Appleton before moving to Madison to attend the UW, where we met in fall of 1971. Since he sold Cutco, he had the Cutco cookbook. I have used the recipe for meat loaf since we were married in 1973.
