In cold water, simmer one package of lean beef cubes with salt and pepper until tender. Use enough water to cover the cubes and then some... This will be the basis for the soup broth.
Remove the cooked beef cubes from the broth and cool.
Dice the following vegetables and add to the beef broth: 6 peeled carrots, 6 celery stalks, one medium onion, one green pepper.
When beef cubes are cool, trim off any remaining fat and cut into small pieces. Return to the broth.
To the simmering soup add one small can of tomato paste. Simmer slowly until vegetables are al dente.

Irma says: "I don't measure the veggies but have included some quantities to give you a starting point. You can add or subtract per your taste. I always add dinner left-overs like, peas, corn or string beans."
