8 plain Hershey bars
2 sticks butter
2 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
2 1/2 c. flour
1 small can Hershey syrup
1 c. pecan (optional)

Melt Hershey bars in a double boiler. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well after each. Add melted Hershey bars. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Sift flour and salt twice. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk and Hershey syrup. Beat well. Add vanilla and nuts. Bake in a tube pan which has been greased and floured. Bake at 325º for 1 1/2 hours.
