3 Tbs. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
4 Tbs. cold shortening (Crisco)
¾ cup milk

Directions:
Combine dry ingredients in bowl. Using fingers, two knives, or flour cutter, mix in the cold shortening until mixture is coarse. Add milk and mix with fork until mixture forms a soft ball. Do NOT overmix. Pour out onto floured surface and pat ball until it is about ½ inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter. Do not twist. Overmixing and twisting the cutter will result in tough biscuits. Place 2 inch biscuits on greased baking sheet or ungreased stone. Bake in 450 degree oven for 12 minutes or until fluffy and golden brown.
