3 cups self-rising flour
1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar
12 ozs. beer
2 tbsp. melted butter (or more)

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Butter a loaf pan and set aside. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and beer. Mix well. The mixture should be sticky. Pour in loaf pan and bake for 55 minutes. At the last 3 minutes of baking, remove from oven, brush the top of the loaf with butter and return to oven.

This makes great Christmas gifts. Pollianne and I used to make this every Christmas for our friends and co-workers. It is great buttered, toasted, and served with Parker's Mayhaw Jelly!
