Meatballs:
1 c. milk
3 lb. hamburger
3 c. quick oatmeal
2 eggs
1 c. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. chili powder

Sauce:
2 c. ketchup
2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. liquid smoke
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 c. chopped onion

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together for meatballs. (You will probably end up mixing this with your hands.) Form into 2” balls (or other size if desired). Place in cake pans/casseroles. Mix sauce ingredients together and spoon over meatballs. Cover and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

In a pinch you can use bottled barbecue sauce, but the homemade sauce is better. Garlic powder can be substituted for the garlic salt, use less-possibly about ¼ tsp. The amount of the spices can be varied according to taste. Instant onion can be used in place of fresh, chopped onion. The milk can be used to soften the oatmeal by putting in the bottom of the bowl before adding and mixing in the rest of the ingredients.
