3/4 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 cups sifted flour
2 Tsp baking soda
1/2 Tsp salt
1 Tsp ginger
1 Tsp cinnamon
1/2 Tsp cloves
Granulated sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF

Cream together butter, brown sugar, molasses and egg until light and fluffy.

Measure flour, soda, salt and spices into a bowl. Stir thoroughly to blend.

Stir into creamed mixture until blended.

Shape into small balls (1" diameter). Roll in the granulated sugar and place 2" apart on greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Watch closely so they don't burn; you may have to adjust the temperature.

Cool slightly, remove from pan and enjoy.
Makes about 4 dozen.
