1 pkg dry yeast
1/4 c extra warm water
5 cups lily self rising flour
2 T sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 cups buttermilk
1/2 c melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast and add sugar. proof yeast.
Mix flour, baking soda Cut in shortening, until crumbly. Add buttermilk and yeast mixture. stir until moistened.(At this point mix can be refrigerate overnight)
Sprinkle countertop with flour and dump mixture and knead 5-6 times. Roll out to 1/2" thick.
Brush melted butter on cookie sheet and place cut biscuits on pan. brush tops with butter. Bake for 15-20 min in a 400º preheated oven. Remove when lightly browned. Brush again with butter.
