1 c shortening
1 1/4 c brown sugar
Cookies:
2 well beaten eggs
2 1/2 c flour
2 tbsp grated orange rind
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 c orange juice
1 c nuts

Frosting:
Powdered sugar
Butter
Grated orange rind
Orange juice
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly. Beat eggs until thick and lemon colored; add to creamed mixture. Mix dry ingredients and add alternatively with orange juice to creamed mixture. Add nuts and orange rind and mix well. Drop by teaspoonful onto baking sheet and bake in oven (400º) for 10-12 minutes.

Frosting: Combine enough powdered sugar, butter orange juice and rind to make a thin frosting. Frost cookies while warm.
