2 Cups buttermilk
3 Cups flour
1 Teaspoon soda
1 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon baking powder
1 Tablespoon shortening
Oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oil to 350º to 375º. Mix 1 cup flour with dry ingredients, add 1 cup buttermilk, then add remaining flour and buttermilk alternately. Turn out on floured board and roll to about 1/4 inch thickness, cut into desired size squares and fry in deep oil until light brown. Split and eat with butter and honey or use as bread base for Indian Tacos.
