4 1/4 cups of white sugar, 17 cups of milk, 1 tsp. baking soda and vanilla extract.

Directions:
Directions:
Put the milk in a large and strong saucepan and heat it until it boils. When the milk boils, add the sugar, baking soda and some drops of vanilla extract and continue cooking it until it starts to show a color similar to caramel and becomes thickened.

This can be served with flan, cake, apple crisp or as a topping for other desserts.
