Dough: 2 cups of chicken broth, 2 T. of oil, 1 tsp. of salt, 1 dash of pepper, 2 cups of all purpose flour. Filling: 1 cup of Gouda cheese.

For coating and deep frying: 1 egg, 1 T. of milk, 1 dash of salt and pepper, breadcrumbs, oil.

Put two cups of chicken broth in a pan. Add two T. of oil, a tsp. of salt, pepper to taste and bring it to boil. Add two cups of flour and mix well with a wooden spoon until the dough is smooth and loosens from the bottom of the pan. Put the dough on a plate and let it cool down for 5-10 minutes. Take a T. of dough and flatten it in your palm. Put a small piece of cheese in the middle of the dough and roll it into a ball.

For coating and deep-frying: Beat an egg in a bowl and add a T. of milk, a dash of salt and pepper. Put the breadcrumbs in another bowl. Dip the balls in the egg and then coat them in the breadcrumbs. Deep fry the balls in hot oil until golden brown all over. Put the balls on a paper towel and serve when hot.

These can be frozen, but they need to be thawed 2 hours before deep frying. Freeze on a cookie sheet and place in a freezer bag when frozen. Appetizers and wine in Rio!
