1 Tsp canola oil
1 lb lean ground beef
2 Tsp chili powder
1/2 Tsp garlic powder
1/2 Tsp onion powder
1/2 Tsp Cajun seasoning (or increase the chili powder)
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 medium onion, peeled and diced
1/2 green pepper, seeded and diced
1 680 ml can tomato sauce
1 14 oz can pureed or diced tomatoes
1 19 oz can kidney beans, drained
1 package taco seasoning mix
Frank's Hot Sauce - a few drops to your taste

In a large skillet, heat the canola oil over medium high heat. Add the ground beef, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, Cajun seasoning, salt and pepper and cook for 2 minutes, breaking up any large chunks of beef as you cook. Add the onion and green pepper and cook until the vegetables are soft and the beef is no longer pink. Drain of any excess fat.

Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, seasoning mix and hot sauce and cook for 15 - 20 minutes, until the mixture thickens. Taste and adjust to your taste with the various spices listed above.
Serve with fresh bread and a side salad.

For our annual chili event for the United Way Campaign typically we are doing about 5 batches in a large cooker at a time. We just brown the beef and add all the ingredients into the large cookers and let simmer for the morning..... it is so easy and so very tasty !!!!

Now that the secret is out we still expect your lunch order in October !!!!
