1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup pumpkin
2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ginger
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually. Cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs and pumpkin. Mix well. Sift dry ingredients. Stir into first mixture.
Drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 15 minutes.

Frost with cream cheese frosting:
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
8 tbsp. butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
