"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, oats, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Pour into a greased 15x10-in. baking pan. Bake at 325º for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow chips to soften for a few minutes, then spread over bars. For glaze, beat peanut butter, butter and confectioners sugar. Add enough milk to achieve spreading consistency. Carefully spread over warm bars; sprinkle with peanuts. Cool before cutting into bars.
