1 cup plus 2 tbsp. unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 cups flour
2 1/2 cups old fashioned or quick oats
3/4 cup each chocolate chunks and plain M&M's
1 cup pecans, chopped

Heat oven to 375º. Beat butter and sugars in a bowl with mixer on med speed until fluffy. Beat in eggs, vanilla, baking soda and salt until blended. With mixer on low speed, beat in flour to blend. Stir in oats, 1/2 cup each of chocolate and M&M's and 3/4 cup of pecans. Drop heaping Tbsps 1 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Stick remaining chocolate, M&M's and pecans into tops of cookies. Bake 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Cool 1 minute on baking sheet, then remove to wire rack to cool.
