1 lb. ground hamburger, 1/2 c. Velveeta cheese cut up, 1 can whole tomatoes, 1/ tsp. Grandma's seasoning, garlic salt, small green pepper chopped, 1/2 c. rice ~minute rice uncooked, 1 small onion diced.

Brown meat slowly in a little fat with tomatoes, onion & green pepper, add all other ingredients except cheese & put into a pan with a tight fitting lid after adding salt to taste. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes total - last 15 mins. add cheese.

I love this recipe for many reasons. First, it calls for "Grandma's Seasoning," which is a spanish seasoning base from the 1940's containing ground chili peppers & cumin seed, oregano and garlic. Next, you have to appreciate velveeta cheese recipes mixed with minute rice. This treat was found on page 93, and I can't place it in my youthful dining recollections.
