2 sticks of butter (or 1 butter/1margarine)
1 cup of sugar
1 egg yoke (save egg white)
2 cups plain flour
Pinch of salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup pecans chopped fine

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add egg yolk (save white for later). Add flour and vanilla and mix.. Spread into (2) 9 x 13 pans. Press out really thin as the thinner they are the more crisp they will be. Beat egg white slightly with a fork. Spread over mixture with fingers. Sprinkle nuts over this and press into mixture. Bake at 250 for 30 mins. If oven is hot, you may have take out sooner. Cut into 1” squares
as soon as you take them out of the oven. Let cool, remove from pan.
